David A. Henshaw ’64 died December 15, 2013, in Leominster, Mass. He was born on October 22, 1942, in Baltimore, Md., and prepared for Bowdoin at Hempstead (N.Y.) High School. A member of Phi Delta Psi fraternity, he went on to earn a diploma in drama from Victoria University in 1972. After Bowdoin, he joined the Peace Corps, serving two years in Lima, Peru. He served to sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked as theater director for the Department of Defense for more than twenty years before starting his second career teaching courses in theater, creative writing, speech, and Spanish at Fisher College and Mount Wachusett Community College. Throughout his life, he and his wife were active acting and directing in community theater, most recently with Barre Players, and won several awards for set design and lighting. He is survived by daughters Jeanette Henshaw, Margaret Burchard, and Allison Haney; son Christopher Henshaw; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, June Marilyn Carter Henshaw, whom he married in 1966.
